You don't have to have a

drinking problem to quit drinking to feel better.

Still Me, But Alcohol-Free is a 6-week program for mid-life women who are ready to try going

alcohol-free to live their healthiest and happiest life.

Is the little voice inside you questioning your relationship with alcohol and wondering if it might be holding you back...but you can't image life without it?

What if you gave yourself a chance to discover who you are without alcohol and experience

the benefits of going alcohol-free, while still enjoying your life (and maybe even enjoying it more)?

Still Me, But Alcohol-Free will guide you through "trying on" going alcohol-free with the right mindset, tools, and support to help you be successful. Offered as a self-guided or group experience, you can choose the level of support that is right for you.

Hi, I'm Laura. I’m a Business & Well-Being Mentor and I'll be your guide for the program.

Going alcohol-free in August of 2020 was one of the best decisions I've ever made. My personal journey inspired me to create this program to share what I’ve learned to guide other women through the journey of shifting to an alcohol-free life.

I want to normalize not drinking as a part of living a healthy life so that we can feel our best and live our best lives.

Does my story sound familiar?

In my early 40s (as I was starting to dance with perimenopause) I wondered if alcohol was really the cause of many of the unfamiliar symptoms I was starting to experience.

I was having chronic heartburn and popping antacids almost every night. I was waking up several times a night. I was experiencing bouts of anxiety that I couldn't explain. I noticed I wasn't enjoying having a glass of wine as much as I did in the past. It just didn't seem to agree with me.

Deep down, I suspected that the wine I was drinking regularly was the problem, but I didn't want to admit it because alcohol was such a big part of my social life!

Alcohol touched so many experiences...the celebrations, the drinks after work, the girl's nights outs, and the boating weekends. I connected with my husband over a bottle of wine. Alcohol was also a way (I thought at the time!) to soothe myself after a stressful day.

I couldn't imagine who I would be or what life would look like if I quit drinking. At the same time, alcohol was starting to feel like a "frenemy." You know, that friend you love that has been with you through so many good times, but at some point, you just don't jive any more - you know she's dragging you down, but don't know how to break up with her.

I did not have a drinking problem or an alcohol addiction. I was drinking what would be considered to be "acceptable" by most. But after months of COVID lockdowns I had definitely seen my consumption creeping up.

So what did I do? Instead of ditching the booze, I tried to cut back and focused on doing all the other healthy living things.

I ate healthy, I exercised, I did yoga, I saw a naturopath, I tried to create rules around drinking to moderate (which often failed)...instead of doing what I knew I really needed to do. Stop drinking. The mental chatter was exhausting, and I was frustrated with myself.

In August of 2020, I hit a breaking point, and I knew I had to make a change. I couldn't ignore the signals my body was giving me any longer and I decided to remove alcohol for "a while." I treated it as an experiment to see how I felt and supported myself by leaning on many of the mindset tools I had been applying in other areas of my life.

The changes I felt within a few short weeks were mind-blowing.

And when I started doing more research and learned the truth about alcohol, I was shocked.

Fast forward to today and I live happily alcohol-free.

I can't wait for you to find out how good life can be alcohol-free!

I had no idea how much better I could feel until I gave myself a period of time to find out...

Heatburn disappeared within days. I no longer reach for TUMS nightly.

The random bouts of anxiety disappeared.

I sleep like a baby. I had no idea how poorly I was sleeping and how unrested I was.

I have way more energy day-to-day.

My mind feels so much clearer and calmer.

My spiritual connection has opened up and I'm a much clearer channel.

My skin has more glow and my eyes are brighter. A friend jokes that I'm aging backwards!

I feel proud of myself for making a decision that felt right for me.

I still have an active social life and genuinely have fun when socializing.

I feel good about the life I am role modelling for my kids.

Here's what women who have gone through the program have to say...

This group course was amazing. Laura covered all the information needed and provided support tools to guide us through. She provided many relevant and useful guest speakers that provided tools and strategies to remain focused and committed to our goals.

Laura was supportive through the entire six weeks and I enjoyed listening to other participants on group calls. I would recommend this course to anyone who is ready to make a change in their lifestyle.

I am so happy that I completed this journey and it has forever changed my life for the better. Thank you Laura!

Laurie

This course was such an eye-opener for me and had so many benefits...improved and more restful sleep, I'm calmer with an increased ability to deal with stressful situations, I've decreased my anxiety and mind chatter and have reduced inflammation (joint pain). It was the best gift I've ever given to myself!

I would highly recommend the Still Me, But Alcohol-Free program to anyone curious about embarking on an alcohol-free lifestyle. Laura's commitment to providing knowledge and evidence-based information and support has been instrumental in helping me achieve my personal goal of committing to an alcohol-free lifestyle.

Donna

I am proud of myself for completing the six weeks and I believe I have stopped a cycle of drinking without thinking.

I am sleeping so much better. I do not have pain in my right knee like I did and I do not beat myself up and feel guilty about drinking too much.

Learning the information about the truth about alcohol is something I never wanted to know, but now that I do, I can't unlearn it and that is good. I know I am healing now.

You don't have to do it alone.

It can feel overwhelming and lonely to try to quit drinking on your own, especially if you are the first one in your social circle to do it.

I will guide you through the experience in a way that will feel good and make it much easier to stick to your commitment.

How does the program work?

To create Still Me, But Alcohol-Free I brought together the tons of information I gathered and my own experience and distilled it down into a holistic, easy-to-digest, step-by-step approach.

The program is broken into six modules, with each including a number of short lessons. The lessons include beautifully designed voiceover presentations, along with links to research and extra resources, and reflective exercises.

There are also several interviews with experts to deep dive into health-related topics and give you exposure to a number of supportive healthy practices (breathwork, heatmath, tapping, yoga, etc.) tailored specifically to going alcohol-free. Applying the bite-sized experiences will help you to manage cravings and cope with emotions in healthy ways instead of turning to alcohol.

Choose your own experience

  • The program will be offered as a self-guided program that you can start any time.
  • For those wishing to have a more supported experience, the group program will be offered a few times a year as a group experience that also includes a weekly on-line group discussion and access to a private Telegram Chat Group.
  • Each week we will cover one new topic that includes a few short lessons for you to watch on your own time. Each lesson has an audio only version so you can listen on the go as well.
  • There are weekly reflections or action-taking assignments and additional resources if you are interested in diving deeper. I suggest allotting 90 minutes per week to review the lessons and reflections.
  • You will receive a comprehensive 50-page Workbook to accompany the program that includes a progress tracker and an evidence journal.
  • In the first two weeks, we build the base of knowledge to be ready to release alcohol. We then move into strategies that will help you during the four weeks in which you will "try-on" being alcohol-free. You also have the option to go alcohol-free for the full six weeks.
  • In the final week of the program, you will reflect on your experience so you can decide what is right for you going forward.

What's inside

ONBOARDING & GETTING CLEAR ON YOUR GOALS

This module helps to orient you to the program and walks through how the program will unfold. You will also have an opportunity to do some reflective exercises to get clear on your why and goals for the program.

MODULE ONE: Exposing the truth about alcohol

We'll start by talking about the shocking body of information available showing what alcohol really is and how it is damaging to your health. This will start the shift how you think about alcohol. We will cover different aspects of how alcohol impacts the various parts of your body and functions (nervous system, heart, digestion, hormones and perimenopause/menopause, sleep, etc.). I'll share research studies and articles as evidence, many of which are focused specifically on research related to how alcohol impacts women differently.

MODULE TWO: Uncovering Your Beliefs About Alcohol & Re-wiring Your Thinking

Many of the reasons we drink have very little do do with what's in your glass. You will learn about how your subconscious mind works and how we create beliefs about alcohol that we can undo. We will draw on the power of our intention to create a vision for who we want to be alcohol-free and learn ways to start re-wiring your beliefs about what life looks like without alcohol using tools including affirmations and visualization.

MODULE THREE: Releasing Alcohol with the Tools in Place to Support You

This is the week when we start putting into place all of the tools and strategies to help you be successful. I'll help you feed your mind with inspirating books and podcasts, prepare you to enter social situations, and give you the inside scoop on what to expect in the first couple of weeks so you are prepared. I'll also provide a comprehensive overview of the non-alcoholic drinks market and guidance on what to look for when making purchases and where to buy.

MODULE FOUR: Well-Being Practices to Support an Alcohol-Free Life

Knowing that you may have cravings and will need other ways to cope with emotions without turning to alcohol, I will provide a choice of healthy resources and modalities for you to try to see what feels supportive for you. This module includes interviews with experts in several modalities including breathwork, tapping, meditation, yoga, HeartMath, The Work, Emotion Code (I'm the expert for that one!), journalling, therapy, morning routines and hypnosis. Each expert provides a "bite-sized" guided experience for you to participate along with and all sessions.

NOTE: This module is available to purchase seperately for those who are already living alcohol-free, but are interested in adding in some more supportive practices.

MODULE FIVE: Staying On Track

After the initial excitement of doing something new starts to wear off, it's important to continually go back to your why. We will reflect on your experience to date and do a powerful exercise to help keep you engaged. We will also talk about how you can be an influence on others in your life without rocking the boat.

MODULE SIX: Deciding what is right for you: Moderation vs. Alcohol-free Life

There are pros and cons to the options of moderation vs. going 100% alcohol-free. I'll lay it all out for you so that you can make an informed decision about what feels right for you after you complete the program and you will make a commitment to yourself for your plan going forward.

What makes this program different?

I'm often asked for recommendations for non-alcoholic drinks, but that is only one piece of the puzzle. This program provides a wide variety of content that help educate you, shift your beliefs, provide practical resources, and expose you to well-being practices that will help you live happily alcohol-free.

I will become a launching pad to set you up for success with the experience and tools to continue on whatever path is right for you.

Experienced, relatable guide

When I was looking for resources at the beginning of my journey, much of the information I found didn't feel relatable because it was created by women who were alcoholics or drinking heavily. I created this program based on my own experience for women who want to quit drinking with a goal of health and wellness in mind (and I'm very passionate about sharing on the topic)!

Tailored experience

Choose the self-guided program if you are ready to dive in right away or sign-up for the next group experience if you want more support, accountability, and access to a community of like-minded women. Ease into quitting in the third week of the program or choose to quit drinking for the whole six weeks. Choose whichever options feel right for you.

Evidence-based information

I'm an information junkie and one of my superpowers is to be able to distill down large amounts of information into easy-to-digest nuggets that are actionable. This program will save you all the time and energy I invested in researching the truth about alcohol and supportive practices. For those who want to dive deeper, there are research links and additional resources provided.

Access to experts

The program goes well beyond just my own experience. I've included interviews with 13 experts to draw on their expertise and perspectives on different health and wellness related topics and practices.

Questions?

I am not sure this is for me. Can you explain who this program is for?

This program is intended to support women who are questioning their relationship with alcohol and interested in reducing or eliminating alcohol with the intent of feeling better so that they can live their best life. This program is not intended to support anyone with alcohol addiction or alcohol use disorder.

I would like to be very clear that I am not an addiction or mental health professional or therapist. Any content shared is for informational and educational purposes only and it is up to the individual to decide what they will apply in their own life.

This program is not intended to replace professional resources like Alcoholics Anonymous which supports people through recovery from alcohol addiction.

Do I need to be ready to commit to a 100% alcohol-free life to benefit from the content?

Absolutely not. Making the decision to go alcohol-free is a journey. Everyone is on their own path. The challenge is that without the right mindset and strategies, most people don't ever give themselves a chance to be alcohol-free for long enough to experience the benefits. This program will give you the information and tools to "try on" experiencing life without alcohol and then you can make the choice that is right for you in the long-term.

Will there be a chance to ask questions?

Absolutely. For those choosing the group experience, during our weekly Q&A calls, you will have an opportunity to ask questions or you can ask a question in the Telegram Chat Group that I will be checking periodically during office hours.

What happens if I can't make the calls live?

All calls will be recorded and circulated by email after the call.

If I do the group program, can I opt out of the reiki sessions?

Absolutely. If you are not comfortable with participating in a distant group Reiki healing session, you do not have to. It is completely optional. Please note that this will not impact the price of the program.

How long will I have access to the on-line content?

You will have access to the on-line content forever.
